4 MISTAKE YOU SHOULD AVOID AT YOUR GYM TIME.
Don't let your skin pay the price of a good workout. What most people don't realize is that the sudden breakout, skin infections, redness and irritations is actually the results of negligence towards skincare while you sweat if out in the gym. However, keeping a few little things in mind can help.
1) NOT WASHING UP PROPERLY: You sweat excessively during workout and your skin accumulates dirt, impurities and sebum along with the sweat which invites acne. Wash your face with a cleanser and exfoliate once a week to get deep settled dirt and grime off. Make sure your skin is squeaky clean before and after you hit the gym.
2) TOUCHING YOUR FACE TOO OFTEN: Fiddling with your face with dirty hands is where the problem lies. Gym equipment is covered with germs and bacteria which you bring in contact with your face when you touch it to probably wipe sweat off your face or because of habit. Steer clear of touching your face with sweaty and dirty hands and spray a disinfectant on equipment, if possible.
3) NOT MOISTURISING AND HYDRATING: Your skin and body both need extra hydration post a vigorous gym session. You might have noticed that your skin feels stretchy and dry after workout. While you make sure to drink plenty of water, don't forget your skin. Moisturize well to make up for the hydration lost. Invest in a cooling moisturizer or gel to cool down your skin post workout.
4) NOT DEALING WITH THE SWEATH: Waiting till you reach home to get rid of sweaty clothes is okay but you need to clean sweat off your skin while you work out too, since it can breed bacteria. Carry a soft towel or face tissues to your gym and keep it handy so that the sweat doesn't stay on your skin for too long. Also, rather than wiping rigorously, be gentle since it can cause skin irritation and rash.
